harvest festival | remembrance
Presented by the UIC Heritage Garden
The UIC Heritage Garden is hosting the 9th Annual Harvest Fest!
Join us for the UIC Heritage Garden Harvest Festival, held during the Día de Los Muertos (day of the dead) Celebration by the UIC Latino Cultural Center.
What stories brought you to where you are now and how are you carrying the past with you in the future?
What do you do to honor the people that came before you?
Remembrance invites us to reflect with gratitude about our ancestors who made our harvest possible. It encourages us to reflect on the stories and histories that brought us to where we are today, and to carry those lessons forward into the future. Join the Heritage Garden in celebrating ancestral wisdom, sharing stories of growth, and honoring the people who came before us as we appreciate a harvest that connects us to our roots.
We will be creating skull-shaped seed bombs for your community’s guerrilla gardens and Monarch habitats; repurposing fabric scraps through creative expression; create protest posters; and celebrating this year’s harvest. We will be handing out teas, seeds and much more!
Masks are required indoors.
