INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups sliced rhubarb
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pint halved strawberries

INSTRUCTION:

  1. Cut rhubarb into 1 inch pieces. 
  2. Combine the rhubarb, water, salt and sugar in a large sauce pan. 
  3. Simmer covered for 10 minutes, or until tender, stirring once or twice.
  4. Just before removing from heat, add strawberries. 
  5. Cool and chill.
  6. Pour over vanilla ice cream or your favorite dessert and serve.
